herapy — Voice & Text Wellness Support

You have the right to delete your personal data from herapy at any time. This page explains what data we hold, where it is stored, how to delete it, and what we are legally required to retain.
herapy is designed to be easy to leave. Account creation is optional, voice data is never stored on our servers, and all guest data lives only on your device.
1. What Data herapy Holds

2. Two Types of Users — Different Deletion Paths
herapy can be used with or without an account. The deletion process differs:

3. How to Delete Your Account
Account deletion is available within the app.
On iOS
Settings → Account → Delete Account → Confirm
- Open herapy → go to Settings
- Tap Account
- Tap Delete Account
- Review the confirmation — it summarizes what will be permanently deleted
- Tap Confirm Delete
On Android
Settings → Account → Delete Account → Confirm
- Open herapy → go to Settings
- Tap Account
- Tap Delete Account
- Review the confirmation screen
- Tap Confirm Delete
Deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once confirmed, your account and server-side data enter the deletion queue and cannot be restored.
4. How to Delete Data as a Guest
If you use herapy without an account, all your data is stored only on your device. We hold nothing on our servers.
To delete all your herapy data as a guest, simply uninstall the app:

Uninstalling permanently deletes all locally stored mood data, session data, memory data, and preferences from your device.
5. What Gets Deleted and When
Account users — deleted within 30 days of confirmed deletion

6. Data We Are Required to Retain
The following cannot be deleted on request during mandatory retention periods:

herapy has no financial transactions and therefore no financial record retention obligations.
7. Voice Data — Nothing to Delete on Our End
Voice audio from your sessions is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. Therefore:
- We do not hold any voice recordings
- There is nothing to delete on our side
- You cannot submit a data access or deletion request for audio we do not have
To stop microphone access entirely:
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → herapy → Off
- Android: Settings → Apps → herapy → Permissions → Microphone → Deny
Voice data stored locally on your device will be removed when you uninstall the app.
8. Clearing Memory and Personalization Data
You can clear your memory and personalization data without deleting your account:
- Open herapy → Settings → Memory → Clear All
- Confirm
This removes all context and preferences you have saved. Your mood history and session data remain unless you delete your account separately.
9. Withdrawing Consent for Mood and Text Data
Mood check-in data and text session content are processed on the basis of your explicit consent. You can withdraw this consent without deleting your account:
- Open herapy → Settings → Privacy → Manage Consents
- Toggle off the relevant consent
After withdrawal:
- No new mood check-in or text session data will be collected
- Existing data will be deleted within 30 days
- Features that depend on this data (mood check-ins, text sessions, weekly insights) will be restricted until consent is re-granted
10. Third-Party Data
herapy has minimal third-party integrations.
Apple App Store (iOS)
Apple holds your App Store account information independently. herapy account deletion does not affect Apple's records. Manage at: https://privacy.apple.com
Google Play (Android)
Google holds your Google Play account information independently. Manage at: https://myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy
herapy does not use RevenueCat, payment processors, or third-party AI services — there is no third-party data beyond Apple/Google distribution.
11. After Deletion
Account deletion is permanent and irreversible.
Once confirmed:
- Server-side data is removed within 30 days
- You will no longer be able to log in
- Your mood history, session data, and progress are permanently lost
- We cannot restore your account after deletion
Before deleting, consider:
- Reviewing or exporting any insights you want to keep
- Settings → Privacy → Export My Data (where available)
Guest users: Uninstalling the app permanently removes all locally stored data. There is no recovery.
